Background
If Akutagawa Jirou could, he would have majored in world peace. A lover of all things sweet, simple, and of harmony, all Jirou really wanted to do with his life was make a difference. Ever since middle school with his sleepy yet bubbly nature, the blonde wasn't ever really taken seriously...or at least seriously enough to be a threat until they encountered Jirou's surprisingly determined nature lurking beneath it all. Tennis was and always has been fun more than anything else, winning or losing never really seeming to matter if his opponent is good enough at tennis and challenges his particularly amazing volley skills inspired when he was twelve by playing Marui Bunta.
Jirou has kept up with his tennis, loving the ease at which it comes to him, while also wanting to pursue elementary education and a minor in philosophy (despite how often he falls asleep in class) due his father's love of the classics. Being a teacher was kind of a natural fit for Jirou, because out of all the people in this world, they seem to connect with him the most and he them, and he loves more than anything else to make them giggle when he falls asleep in seeming odd and awkward positions almost constantly. Beyond knowing what he wants to do, Jirou doesn't think of the future often, instead choosing to live in the here and the now and enjoy life, one stick of strawberry pocky at a time.
